All Corvairs were 108" wheelbase including these four door station wagons. The reason so few have encountered one of these is they were two-year-only models, 1961-'62. For 1961, 26,042 were sold but for 1962, only 6,078 were sold: the reason? Across the showroom floor was the all-new, conventional 1962 Chevy II four door station wagon of which 59,886 were sold. Between the Corvair Greenbriar van and the Chevy II station wagon, the Corvair Lakewoods were superfluous, quietly dropped from the model selection. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
